Eiffel tower

We have to cut the Musée d'Orsay visit short to get to the Eiffel tower on time.  Bill decides to stay a little longer and will meet us there.

Since the tower is such a busy tourist location, we bought tickets in advance, but we need to be there exactly at 5:30.  We decide to walk  from the Musée d'Orsay to the Eiffel tower.  It is a much longer than expected walk. The tower is so big (over 1000 feet tall), that we can't get a single full shot of it.

Fred and the Iron Lady

Fred is not a big fan of heights and the fast, wobbly elevator was not enjoyable to him.

The elevator goes to the second level and all get off for some viewing.  Bill and Retta go all the way to the top.

D'Orsay Museum

In the afternoon we go to the  Musée d'Orsay, which houses many impressionist works of art, paintings and sculptures.  The museum is housed in a former railway station and is very impressive.  We can't take any photos inside.

Rodin's Garden

The morning is bright and cool and epitomizes the end of summer.

We decide to visit Musée Rodin, which was Rodin's home.  It contains some of his most famous works: The Kiss, The Thinker, Gates Of Hell. The house and gardens are beautiful.  Rodin bequeathed the property and all of his works there to France if they kept it a museum.
