Latin Quarter & Catacombs

Claude (Fred's brother) and family visit.  We decide to go to the catacombs.    We walk there through the latin quarter where book and souvenir sellers line the streets along the Seine.

Paris's catacombs are located in very old mines that criss-cross underneath the city.  In the late 18th century, Paris, running out of burial grounds, decided to create an ossuary in these mines to solve the problem. The vision of black covered wagons led by chanting priests through night-time Paris lingers with Loretta.

Afterward, we spend the afternoon walking through beautiful streets and alleys.
